In early Microsoft acquired Playfaba company that provided tools for back-end games support via the cloud. Two years on, Playfab founder James Gwertzman is still working as the General Manager of the team, which leverages the power of Microsoft's Azure network. How does Playfab help game developers, though? Gwertzman shared some insights on that in a lengthy interview with the press, transcribed by GamesBeat. For example, he revealed that one of Microsoft's internal Xbox Game Studios is attempting to use Machine Learning models to upscale textures in real time through AI.

Apparently the results are so identical to the native assets that low resolution textures could be shipped and simply upscaled on the fly. One of the studios inside Microsoft has been experimenting with using ML models for asset generation.

Like literally not having to ship massive 2K by 2K textures. You can ship tiny textures. Think of it more like a magical compression technology. We could be providing technologies like this to everyone to level the playing field again.

To reduce the noise and extract the correct word over the sequence of frames in a shot, you will need to apply an algorithm on the partial words.

Video Indexer does so and hence you get better insights from the video. A face recognition system consists of a face database that is built using a set of training images per person. It also provides a query function that does the job of extracting facial features from the query image and matching it against the face database.

The output from the query function consists of a list of possible matches along with confidence values. The quality of the output of the query function will depend on the quality of the face database and the query image.

In the case of video, there will be multiple frames of video where the person is present in different head poses and lighting condition. One can take the approach of taking each frame where a person is present and querying the face recognition system. This is full res. Lens was a canon f2. On the s1r the adapter was the Sigma mc and on the Sony the Sigma mc I don't think its an adapter or lens issue but it may well be a focus issue. I have a 70mm f2. Theoretically once focused all cameras should match but mounting and unmounting and sony's bsi sensor messing up the register ensure that won't happen.

I checked out the Gigapixel website. Looks impressive. This does not add any detail to the image, it just smoothes out the transition between pixels. But this seems way better than simple upscaling, which Foveon already responds well to, because the detail is pixel-for-pixel!

Then the developers could shrink all those textures down for smaller downloads and let the machine learning model restore them as the game is played.
